PHRM6113 Advanced Microbiology 1
Microbiology is actively researched, and the field is advancing continuously. It is estimated that only about one percent of the microorganisms present in a given environmental sample are culturable and the number of bacterial cells and species on Earth is still not possible to be determined, recent estimates indicate that it can be extremely high. Although microbes were directly observed over three hundred years ago, the precise determination, quantitation and description of its functions is far to be complete, given the overwhelming diversity detected by genetic and culture-independent means.
PHRM6114 Advanced Microbiology 2

PHRM6112 Immunobiology 1
This class covers the study of all aspects of the immune system in all organisms. PHRM6116 Infectious pathogen
A pathogen or infectious agent is a microorganism in the widest sense, such as a virus, bacterium, prion, or fungus, that causes disease in its host; the host can be an animal (including humans), a plant, or even another microorganism. There are several substrates including pathways wherein pathogens can invade a host; the principal pathways have different episodic time frames, but soil contamination has the longest or most persistent potential for harboring a pathogen. This class covers pathogenesis of each pathogens.
PHRM6117 Vaccinology
A vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to a particular disease. A vaccine typically contains an agent that resembles a disease-causing microorganism, and is often made from weakened or killed forms of the microbe, its toxins or one of its surface proteins. The agent stimulates the body's immune system to recognize the agent as foreign, destroy it, and "remember" it, so that the immune system can more easily recognize and destroy any of these microorganisms that it later encounters. This class covers currently available vaccine and their future.
PHRM6118 Autoimmune disease
Autoimmune diseases arise from an inappropriate immune response of the body against substances and tissues normally present in the body. In other words, the immune system mistakes some part of the body as a pathogen and attacks its own cells. This may be restricted to certain organs or involve a particular tissue in different places. The treatment of autoimmune diseases is typically with immunosuppression—medication which decreases the immune response. This class covers immunopathology and therapy of autoimmune disease.

Immunotherapy is a medical term defined as the "treatment of disease by inducing, enhancing, or suppressing an immune response". Immunotherapies designed to elicit or amplify an immune response are classified as activation immunotherapies. While immunotherapies that reduce or suppress are classified as suppression immunotherapies. This class covers currently available immunotherapeutics and their future.
PHRM6120 Tumor immunology
Cancer immunology is the study of interactions between the immune system and cancer cells. It is also a growing field of research that aims to discover innovative cancer immunotherapies to treat and retard progression of this disease. The immune response, including the recognition of cancer-specific antigens is of particular interest in this field as knowledge gained drives the development of new vaccines and antibody therapies. This class covers immune interaction with tumor and currently available anti-cancer immunotherapeutics.
PHRM6121 Cellular immunology
The study of the molecular and cellular components that comprise the immune system, including their function and interaction, is the central science of immunology. The immune system has been divided into a more primitive innate immune system, and acquired or adaptive immune system of vertebrates, the latter of which is further divided into humoral and cellular components. This class covers the immunological function of cells, organs and systems not normally associated with the immune system, as well as the function of the immune system outside classical models of immunity.

In this course graduate students will present and discuss recent published articles in preventive pharmacy. Students will discuss and apply in the practice how to assist other caregivers in the development of a rational plan of drug therapy for a patient, and to evaluate existing plans of therapy and suggest alternative therapeutic treatments.

PHRM6536 Medication Use Evaluation
This course will provides information on the concept of medication use evaluation (MUE), a quality assurance method that has been shown to be effective in identifying medicine use problems. Students will discuss the process for implementing and performing a broad-based, ongoing, and systematic MUE in order to improve medication use.
PHRM6537 Advanced Drug Information
The goal of this course is preparation of the students as an effective drug information contributor to provide an integral component of pharmaceutical care, which seeks to improve the effective, safe, and cost-effective use of medications.

PHRM665 Pharmaceutical Bioinformatics
The course covers practical aspects of bioinformatics in pharmaceutical industry. The course enables to graduate students to have working knowledge on exploiting public microarray databases like Gene Expression Omnibus in National Center for Biotechnology Information to perform data-mining for new drug discovery. This course will provide a case study opportunity to each student to analyze clinical databases which will be applied to find new drug targets.
PHRM666 Tissue engineering for new drug discovery
The course enables to graduate students to have working knowledge on application of tissue engineering in drug development in pharmaceutical industry. This course will focus on liver tissue engineering. Students will have opportunities to learn application of hepatocyte stem cells and biomaterials on liver tissue engineering and also to study the importance of cell mechanics and biocompatible devices in tissue engineering
